Gradient-shaded, full-background piece for my friends and of their personal characters with their steeds, headed toward the distant castle on a late autumn's evening...
Hmm, full pieces. Love how the characters turned out, but y'know...I really love that distant forest. Makes me want to sit down and try some speedpainting again. When I get a little lull in commissions I'll try some and maybe post one or two, inshallah.
Hmm, horses. ^^ Forgot how much I do love drawing them - planning on doing some more fantasy steeds now, even just for practice/fun.
Also, light sources. X)
Thanks Astanax and Angel! So happy you like! :hugs:
Great deviation. The only thing I had really done to the painting was slim down the dragon body just a little bit, and I gave it an opened mouth and more of a pronounced nostril bump. I noticed that Asty and Sara didn't have much of a pronounced mouth, but I don't want to attempt doing that, or trying to give the dragon back legs for fear of messing it up. I did get rid of the black squiggly line between Asty's back leg and Luna's leg. Is that blue dipping down past the yellowish line jutting out from the knee supposed to be the rest of the fabric? These are just my thoughts and actions once I was able to inspect the painting close up. Otherwise, outstanding work, as always!
You drew horsssssssssssssssesssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, that was my first reaction XD and then I looked at the rest of the picture and totally agree with you that the forest wants wandering in, definitely. ^^ Love the people and background and lighting. Makes me want to be even more ambitious with my backgrounds (not that I should just yet...)
I know! X3 I'm trying to draw more of them lately, this piece reminded me how much I love drawing them! Well, more like sketching, since I haven't done a full piece with horses for a while. ^^ And this also inspired me to work on backgrounds! ^^ But they do take a lot of work to get just right, haha. I might try some speedpainting techniques, since the one I used for this forest worked out really well.
