Wolf/canine practice, seriously. I finally felt good enough to do a full digital piece. Been doing lots and lots of sketches lately. I actually did this without any refs. I am super happy with it. I also decided to make her green because, hey, it's a good colour, and I haven't shaded something green in a while. It also adds to the cute, hah.
Constructive criticism is super welcome! Expect more of this green child for more practice - probably even an anthro version of her soon, inshallah.
And super thanks to and your friend on FA for all the help! And also thanks to for the help and company at B&N while I was working on some sketches. ^^
So I found myself really liking this drawing, I like that shade of green plus all those subtle patterns make a very popular animal very original.
While I don't draw wolves very often I do know the general build of one, and one of the few errors I'm noticing are the paws. It looks like you still have a lizard-like mindset and those front feet look more like your amazing dragons which is totally fine if that's what you're aiming for. But to obtain that dog-like paw you need to get rid of those little finger tendons and try to capture that look you have on the back foot.
Another think I see is the pose. The belly is flat and the back is arched, a characteristic more typically seen in cats. But a dog on the other hand is almost opposite. Their back is is flatter and their chest and belly slightly goes up as it reaches the tail. it's weird when they run though because their back still doesn't arch it just kind of makes them look like their lower back shrinks.
Also, one last think is you don't need to emphasize the shoulder as much as you have especially on fluffier dogs like a wolf.
But I still like this, as soon as I saw it I was drawn to it. So I can't wait to see more versions of it as you shape it out more. I also smell shoulder puppet all over it if it turns out you like this character enough.
