Eid Muzafr Mubarak! Happy Muzafr Monday! (See, people? 'Eid Muzafr Mubarak' is in Arabic, and 'Happy Muzafr Monday' is the translation of that.)
Showing off a close-up of my hand-made Muzafr shoulder puppet! I actually made this gal last fall with the intention of taking her to MFF 2013 to debut her there, but I just ended up with way too much other luggage, I didn't want to risk transporting her that far.
Muzafr here is all hand-sculpted, painted, and assembled by yours truly. She's also sculpted from clay, painted with custom-mixed acrylics, assembled on my custom cable mechanism. Wings are all foam layers and coloured with Sharpie and are poseable. All the spines are foam to make her as light-weight and durable as possible. Tail is wired and poseable. All of the spines and scales were hand-cut and applied.
And of course her head moves! She perches on my shoulder all sassy like, and can look up, down, side to side extremely well via cable. She's about 3' long and 2' tall, and weighs maybe 1-2 pounds.
I love this gal sooo much, she turned out perfect! From all the details to how flawless her movement is. Inshallah I'll have a video up on my YouTube in a little while.
And seriously, don't start making 'She's so fluffy!' or 'I thought she was scaly' comments. I make my puppets fluffy to be lightweight and to hide the mechanism.
And, because I have to add this, this was a PERSONAL PROJECT that is NOT FOR SALE and I am NOT taking commissions for these anymore! So please don't ask!
Muzafr is my sona!
