Taking some time between commissions to practice some extra-shiny gradient shading practice. A minty dragon, because he's very minty-looking. A nice spearmint with some cinnamon, mmm...
Tried a little something different with the shading this time - less shading, more highlights and vibrant colours. What do you guys think? (He's intentionally extra shiny and colourful, I'm mainly concerned with the crisp, graphic look of the highlights on the hard edges.)
Commissions in this style are avail if anyone likes it. I'll keep fussing with it, but I like my usual gradient shading way too much, hah.
I quite enjoy the bright, crisp shininess of this picture It certainly gives an extra kick, and I can see how it would fit some dragons more than others who benefit from softer shades. Minty is quite right!
