Tutorial - Basic Dragon Anatomy by TwilightSaint Tutorial - Basic Dragon Anatomy by TwilightSaint
~~~
Full-sized file can be seen here: [link]
Small dragon anatomy guide sponsored by Imafliggingninja of FA. I just wanted to touch really quickly on the basic anatomy parts of the dragon, and I might make a serious-serious tutorial later on, as well as some 'detail' tutorials like dragon heads/jaws, wings, etc, (I already did a dragon feet tutorial, though I should probably update it.)
Just showing some basic muscle groups and shapes. I hope this helps. ^^ If anyone has any questions on anything specific, let me know. I am by no means an expert on animal anatomy, but I'll answer any and all questions to the best of my ability.
Animal references from: [link] [link] and [link]
Thanks Ninja!
Hello there... :) Your drawings are great, so is this tutorial. I was just thinking.... How much time did you need to draw that well? Because i'm just starting out and i can't manage to draw from imagination... Do you have any tips to train? Sorry for asking all that, but i really want to improve... PS, sorry for my english, not my native language.
Thanks! I've been drawing since I could hold a pen. Been doing digital art for about five years now. Just takes a ton of work, work, and more work!
So, how would you draw a dragon with a straight neck instead of curving upward?
You would just draw the muscles straighter and more stretched out.
