Well, I think it was about time I updated my Journal. XD
Anyway, as you've probably noticed, I haven't been particularly active online lately. Honestly, I'm actually checking my DA and FA accounts just about every day - from my iPhone! Which limits my functionality, but I can still communicate with Notes, Comments/Replies, and Polls, (as I've been communicating most lately.) So I'm still here, technically, but in ghost form.
Anyway, you guys know how I'm always going on about being busy - I am! I've had seven research projects to work on this winter/spring, on top of exams/quizzes/debates/etc, and have two more to do... Just in time for summer classes! XD So on top of lurking about in the afternoons and evenings, my weekends have been kidnapped by research papers and Habibis. Literally. Made over ten last Saturday, and then turned around and wrote a 20-page paper on Sunday, wahaha.

And what's with all of this business and Habibi-making? Well, as a few of you may know, my summer is getting a six-week-stectomy...
To Israel!!!
Yes, you guys know how I've been /dying/ to get to the Middle East - especially Jerusalem - well, this summer, I've been accepted into a study abroad program at my university! I'll be attending a month-long archaeological/excavation program at the Tel at Old City Acre, (ACRE. ACRE. Crusader-city-ACRE!) and then will be attending a ten-day study tour around the famous/historical areas of northern and southern Israel, ending in...Jerusalem...
I'll have free time just about every day, so I'll get good chances to troll the Crusader tunnels of Acre, Saladin Street, (I mean, I need to live there,) and the Dome of the Rock. JUST the Dome of the Rock... My heart's under that golden dome! I need to get it back!
So, you can imagine, I'll be absent during that time in the summer...but will try very hard to get online on DA/FA a bit. And then...expect lots of pictures of me! And Israel! And turbans! Ftw!
What does this mean for you?It means that I may not be responding for messages for up to two months, and you'll also have an absence of art, commissions, Habibis, all of it, for up to two months.
That means, if you want to commission me, DO IT NOW. If you contact me in June for a commission, you may not receive it until next September!!!

So, as you can imagine, I'm tearing my turban off trying to get as many Habibis done for the arts fest I want to attend this summer! The fest is...one week after I return from abroad. XD So hopefully I'll be fully re-adjusted time-wise by then...
My original goal was between 20-30 puppets...then I lowered it to a dozen... However, after going through my list of past-made and current in-stock Habibis...I have 26 for sale! I have several of these guys online at the moment, however, please feel free to note me to see what I have in stock/pictures from various angles of a puppet you have your eye on. I may not be uploading as many pictures of Habibis up here or on FA as I would like to, due to some unusual circumstances, but I am still taking/posting commissions of customs, so don't fret if you'd like one but don't see me posting 10+ pictures every week.

However, some general updates... I've done the first Fossil Edition Habibis! All T-Rexes, a triple commission for a friend of my parents', actually, who liked the dragon I had on my shoulder when we met them for dinner.
I'm also working on several new dragon heads and paw styles, different gryphon heads/paws, canonizing large and small panthers, large and small cats, large and small wolves/canines, large gremlin, small gremlin, large gargoyle, crow, Toothless...
I'm also working on some new ' Perchers,' or Babies, for dragons, gryphons, and cats. I'm also hoping to get the master sculpts of horses, perching, large, and small, a different gargoyle, small gargoyle, different Hatchling sculpts, birds of prey, small phoenixes, large and small owls, large and small parrots, laying down large and small gremlins/Chesire cats, fairies, angels, devils... And really...that's kind of all that's on my mind right now... Remind me of anything I'm forgetting. XD

No guys, I'm serious. If you have any suggestions /at all,/ please let me know, either by Noting me so we can discuss it in detail, or by Commenting so small suggestions. Either by how the puppets look, how they're sized, how they're coloured, how the level of detail/sculpting is, anything at all! Please let me know!!! I've received lots of questions over time about making your own shoulder puppets, and quite honestly, it's awesome! If you want to make your own shoulder puppet and have no idea where to start, feel free to ask. Questions on materials? Let me know. I honestly feel that everyone should have the chance to make their own shoulder puppets, free from the threat of the monopolizing companies that have all the Ren Faire and convention gigs.

Plumes N' Feathers:
[link] - Fantastic website where I purchase my specialty feathers and ostrich feathers for the Phoenixes.
Cynthia's Feathers:
[link] - She has tons of products to choose from, and I purchase most of my feather boas from this site.
Crafts, Feathers, Floral:
[link] - Another good site for feathers, with a great boa selection and decorative feather selection.
Creative Wholesale:
[link] - A fantastic wholesale art supply site with an extensive selection of tons of products! This is where I purchase most of my resin and clay, and the catalysts and dyes in-between.
Also, if you're using the brake-cable assemblies and are having troubles, feel free to ask, as I'm experienced in working with them and how to get the most out of a single cable.
And, very important! If you're getting into casting resin, (resin, not the epoxy,) feel free to ask me! It took me many a good trial-runs and catalyst burns to finally get my formula where it's perfect. If you're not experienced, let me know and I can help walk you through it and let you know my tips and tricks!!! (I'm actually thinking about making a video tutorial of working on these, as online tutorials and resources are few and far between.)
