Gradient-shaded comish for the sweet Shinry of FA of Shinryon, the dragon, about to bring some pain!
Wallah, I'm so happy with this one, adfkja;dkfj a;kdfj~~~ This piece just screamed 'I'm going to be so freaking awesome!' right from the sketchy beginnings, and I love the finished product - the blues and lighting and pose is just so wicked. I really had a lot of fun playing with the shades and lighting effects, and, of course, the colours.
Thanks again Shin! Hope ya like it!

uh ... a critique ... okay ... um as an artist, I've always dreaded critiques, but you know, they're necessary.
Okay, so overall, it looks great. I mean, there's a nice focus; everything frames and leads back to the focal point nicely. It's not too sketchy (I need work on that bit) and the anatomy is clear. Nice movement and balance too. It ... well, makes sense.
So, I'm not sure if that was your intention, but the clothes look a little ... well ... plasticy (whatever the word is). Did you use a gradient tool? Maybe if you used a little bit more of the brush tool it might give a little more realistic touch to it?
You know, I've been doing digital art long before I got my tablet. In fact, that dragon character I've got in my gallery was done with a mouse, in fact. So, before I got my tablet, I was using a lot of the gradient tool. is that the same with you?
